Pliant Corporation, a leading manufacturer of value added film and flexible packaging products located in Macedon NY, sought an innovative way to promote their unique work place way of life. Pliant embraces a non-standard work week, following a 4 on 3 off work week. Pliant looked to Corporate Communications, Inc. to produce a unique, captivating and emotional message, to help promote this innovative employment strategy to potential team members. Pliant needed to do more than just promote their work place benefits; they also had tight budget constraints and were required to report an accurate Return On Investment for this promotion. To meet these requirements, we created a promotional Human Resources Webmercial for Pliant. Unlike a traditional static web page, a dynamic Webmercial can evoke an immediate emotional response. This is achieved through a careful mixing of both still and motion imagery, animation, script and audio track with an immediate call to action at the close of the Webmercial. In the case of this Webmercial, the precise Return On Investment was calculated through two specific outlets. First, through an innovative online tracking mechanism that logs referring locations (where visitors come from) as well as the number of times the Webmercial was viewed based on IP address. Second, a direct call to action at the conclusion of the Webmercial tracks the number of viewers who followed through on this call. Additionally, a print campaign was launched including a url specific to this Webmercial. Ultimately, not only was data provided on effectiveness of the Webmercial but also on the effectiveness of the ad placement. The Webmercial received rave reviews from both the Pliant Management but also from viewers of the Webmercial. The data collected will also serve as a valuable asset for future Pliant HR campaigns.
